Bentleigh East is the sprawling one — the largest of the Bentleighs by a fair way, stretching from the GESAC leisure centre out toward East Boundary Road, with a broader mix of housing than its neighbour: interwar bungalows, a lot of post-war brick, and a growing share of rebuilds and townhouses on the bigger blocks. That range means the work varies more here. The interwar double-brick homes bring the usual core-drilling and careful routing, while the post-war brick homes are a bit more forgiving and often just need a clean back-to-back or short run. A lot of the post-war stock is on its second round of heating and cooling, so replacements are common, and the switchboards generally need a look before they'll take a reverse-cycle load.
