Sorrento's built out of the ground it sits on — the old buildings along the main street and a good number of the grand homes are limestone, quarried locally back when the town was Melbourne's first seaside resort. That stone changes the job more than people expect. You don't core-drill limestone the way you do brick veneer, and on the heritage homes you can't just punch a line through a wall that's part of what makes the place, so pipe runs get planned carefully — often up a side elevation, through subfloor, or along a path that keeps the stone frontage untouched. Sorrento also has a heavy layer of holiday homes and contemporary rebuilds, especially back from the front beach and up toward the back beach, and those range from simple to large glassy jobs wanting multi-head systems. The town sits on the bay side but the back beach isn't far, so salt is in the air across most of it — outdoor units get sited off the exposed walls and specced for the coast. What's included in your Sorrento install
A Sorrento install includes supply of your chosen unit, fitting to AS/NZS 3000, neat back-to-back or routed pipework, condensate drainage, electrical connection, old unit removal and recycling, commissioning and clean-up. On the limestone and heritage homes here we allow extra time to plan runs that keep the stone frontages untouched, and being close to both beaches we site the outdoor unit off the worst salt exposure. It's all in the fixed price agreed up front, with any switchboard upgrade flagged before you commit.
