Split system installation in Warranwood
Warranwood is a hillside suburb between Ringwood North and Wonga Park, and the terrain is defining - the residential grid steps up from Colchester Road toward Loughnan Hill and Warrandyte Road, with many blocks carrying 5 to 12 metre gradients between the front and rear. Practically that means outdoor unit placement is almost always determined by grade rather than aesthetics - the compressor goes on the higher side of the block to stay within 2 metres vertical of the indoor head, and pipe routes often need lubrication traps and pressure-drop calculations that don't apply to flat-block installs. Warranwood is heavily treed - the suburb was subdivided from bushland in the 1970s and mature native Eucalypts were retained on most blocks - which creates leaf-drop issues for outdoor unit intake grilles and we fit debris shrouds on every Warranwood condenser installation as a standard rather than a line item. Native fauna is a real consideration - possums nest in outdoor unit housings if the intake grilles are unguarded, and we always spec a possum-guard mesh over the compressor cavity for Warranwood installs. The 1970s brick veneer stock along Colchester Road and Old Warrandyte Road is otherwise a straightforward install profile.
Outer-east foothills, cooler than middle-east by 2 to 3 degrees, treed lots with heavy leaf drop, bushfire risk on higher blocks
Why Warranwood homeowners choose Bellair
BAL ratings apply to the higher blocks toward Loughnan Hill and any property backing onto Yarran Dheran Reserve or the Warrandyte-adjacent bushland - typically BAL-19 to BAL-29 rather than the higher ratings we see in Coldstream or Wandin North, but enough to require ember-resistant compressor housings and metal pipe covers on affected properties. Winter cold is 2 to 3 degrees below the middle-east belt with regular frost from May through September, and we spec cold-climate compressors with base-tray heater options on outdoor units. The drive from Botanic Ridge is 65 kilometres and 72 minutes each way - full-day slots only. Maroondah Council planning is efficient for standard external installations. The renovation activity in Warranwood is on the 1970s and 1980s split-level stock with owners typically extending the lower zone and upgrading to whole-house multi-head reverse-cycle systems - typical spec is a 12 to 14kW outdoor unit feeding four indoor heads across three bedrooms and an open-plan living-dining area. The 1990s architect double-storey builds along Loughnan Hill are the exception - those are typically pre-provisioned by the original architect for a specific multi-head layout that we install and commission rather than design from scratch.
What's included in your Warranwood install
Included in the Warranwood quote: the cold-climate rated split system in your chosen size and brand with base-tray heater on the outdoor unit for exposed installations, all copper pipework and electrical cabling, standard back-to-back or ground-pad install with levelling shim allowance for stepped blocks and lubrication trap on any vertical drop over 2 metres, debris shroud and possum-guard mesh as standard, ember-resistant condenser housing for BAL-29 or higher properties (quoted separately as a line item), drain to the nearest legal point, controller pairing and commissioning on both cooling and heating cycles, cleanup and removal of packaging, full manufacturer warranty and our own 7-year workmanship guarantee. Not included: Maroondah Council planning permits, BAL certification, engineering reports for multi-head systems on hillside architect builds, electrical switchboard upgrades on pre-1980 properties, penetrations through structural steel or concrete, tree-clearance permits, and pipe runs longer than the standard 5-metre kit which are quoted per additional metre before we start work.

Matt and his team are exceptional. I sent a message Saturday morning, I received a text message and a phone call, and a site visit by 11am. I am not use to such high customer service. Matt tried to have my install done asap as we had no heating. Install was also exceptional, as his pricing and quality of install and removal of old unit is beyond expectations. Was not an easy job but his quote was so honest and fair. I can hardly notice the outside cabling (first photo). He was also so polite, professional and caring. Thank you Matt and team. Will contact shortly for further split systems install. I will only contact your company in the future. Also, your system recommendation has been amazing. Many, many thanks for everything.

Communication with Matt was seamless and transparent. He came to inspect my place prior for a quick chat and to issue an estimated quote not long after. We eventually had a date fixed for two units to be installed. One required replacement of the previous old unit (included removal from property), and the second required a new hole to be drilled for installation. Matt and his team took roughly 3.5-4h. They were immaculate with their work! They left my place decently clean. I would have to say that this was the best customer service that I have had. Everything was discussed clearly, and my questions were addressed appropriately by Matt. I would highly recommended them if you are still considering! Thank you very much, Matt and your boys!

Matt did an excellent job installing our new Mitsubishi Electric heating and cooling system. He was professional, punctual, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The installation was completed to a high standard, and the work area was left clean and tidy. We're very happy with the result and appreciate the added peace of mind from the 5-year Mitsubishi Electric manufacturer warranty and 7-year Bellair workmanship warranty. Highly recommend Matt and the Bellair team.
