Blind Bight is a purpose-built canal estate - the original 1970s subdivision cut private canals inland from a locked bay off Western Port, giving each waterfront lot a private jetty and boat mooring. Unlike Cannons Creek and Warneet, which grew organically around natural tidal inlets, Blind Bight is planned suburbia laid out on a grid with Bight Boulevard as the through-road and the canal system feeding off it. That planned-canal geography defines the install brief on waterfront blocks. The canals are tidal but sheltered, which means the salt burden on outdoor coils sits somewhere between full-surf-coast exposure (like Rye or Rosebud) and full-inland (like Cranbourne). We spec Fujitsu ASTG-KMT or Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-AP with the seaside blue-fin coil treatment on canal-front houses, but we don't upgrade to full marine-grade housing the way we would on the Bay side of the Peninsula. Blind Bight has no shops or services inside the estate itself - residents drive to Tooradin or Cranbourne for groceries - so vehicle traffic through the estate is low and the streets are quiet, which is convenient for install days that need a truck parked on the road for line-set staging. Housing is mostly 1990s to 2010s double-storey brick, with the master suite upstairs facing the canal, so cavity runs to first-floor bedrooms are the standard configuration.
