Warneet is the oldest of the three Casey coastal hamlets - the settlement dates from the 1920s as a fishing camp on a natural mangrove inlet off Western Port, and it still has that character. The Warneet Boat Club sits at the end of Warneet Road on the inlet, houseboats and permanent-moored vessels dot the channel, and the single road in and out (Warneet Road) means the whole hamlet is effectively a peninsula with one access point. That single-road access shapes our install planning: on a Warneet job we're committed to the property for the day because there's no quick shuffle to collect a forgotten fitting from the van at the Cranbourne merchant - the round trip is 45 minutes. We stage everything at the property before start of works. The housing is genuinely modest - 1950s to 70s weatherboard fishing shacks, many still on stumps rather than slab, with hardwood floorboards that flex under compressor vibration if we bracket the outdoor unit into the bearer without an isolator.
