Split system installation in Mount Evelyn
Mount Evelyn is the transition between suburban Melbourne and the Yarra Valley proper - the residential grid west of York Road is on standard 800 to 1000 square metre suburban blocks, while the streets east of York Road step up onto rural-residential acreage running toward Silvan and Monbulk Creek. Every quote conversation starts with confirming which side of York Road the property is on because the install brief is fundamentally different - suburban block installs are single-head or three-head splits, while acreage installs are multi-head systems with 15 to 25 metre pipe runs and dedicated outdoor unit pads clear of any structure. The Warburton Trail runs along the former rail corridor through the northern half of the suburb and about a fifth of Mount Evelyn properties back onto the trail with mature gum trees along the reserve boundary. Falling gum debris is a real concern for outdoor unit intake grilles and we always fit debris shrouds on trail-adjacent condensers. The 1970s weatherboard stock along Wray Crescent and Birts Hill Road has single-skin timber walls with easy through-wall pipe routing but always sealed against rodent entry which is a persistent concern in the foothills.
Yarra Valley approach foothills, colder than the outer-east belt by 2 to 3 degrees, regular frost May-September, bushfire risk
Why Mount Evelyn homeowners choose Bellair
Winter cold is the defining climate constraint on Mount Evelyn installs - the suburb runs 2 to 3 degrees cooler than the outer-east belt and 4 to 5 degrees cooler than the inner east, with regular frost from May through September and overnight minimums touching -2 to -4 degrees on the coldest nights. We spec cold-climate rated Mitsubishi Electric or Fujitsu compressors as standard with base-tray heaters on the outdoor unit to prevent condensate freezing. BAL ratings are a real consideration on the acreage properties east of York Road - anything backing onto Silvan bushland or the Warburton Trail forest sections carries BAL-19 to BAL-40 ratings, and we spec ember-resistant compressor housings and stainless intake mesh accordingly. The drive from Botanic Ridge is 72 kilometres and 80 minutes each way - full-day slots only, and typically two Mount Evelyn installs booked back-to-back to make the round trip economical. Yarra Ranges Shire planning has slightly longer turnaround than Whitehorse or Maroondah - typically 5 to 6 weeks for standard external installations if any permit is required, though most straightforward installs don't need one.
What's included in your Mount Evelyn install
Included in the Mount Evelyn quote: the cold-climate rated split system in your chosen size and brand with base-tray heater on the outdoor unit as standard, all copper pipework and electrical cabling, ember-resistant condenser housing and stainless intake mesh for BAL-29 or higher properties (quoted separately as a line item), ground-pad or wall-bracket install as suits the site, debris shroud on any condenser adjacent to the Warburton Trail or reserve land, drain to the nearest legal point, controller pairing and commissioning on both cooling and heating cycles, cleanup and removal of packaging, full manufacturer warranty and our own 7-year workmanship guarantee. Not included: Yarra Ranges Shire planning permits, BAL certification (issued by an independent bushfire consultant), engineering reports for multi-head systems on acreage properties, electrical switchboard upgrades on older rural properties, penetrations through structural steel or concrete, tree-clearance permits, and pipe runs longer than the standard 5-metre kit which are quoted per additional metre before we start work.

Matt and his team are exceptional. I sent a message Saturday morning, I received a text message and a phone call, and a site visit by 11am. I am not use to such high customer service. Matt tried to have my install done asap as we had no heating. Install was also exceptional, as his pricing and quality of install and removal of old unit is beyond expectations. Was not an easy job but his quote was so honest and fair. I can hardly notice the outside cabling (first photo). He was also so polite, professional and caring. Thank you Matt and team. Will contact shortly for further split systems install. I will only contact your company in the future. Also, your system recommendation has been amazing. Many, many thanks for everything.

Communication with Matt was seamless and transparent. He came to inspect my place prior for a quick chat and to issue an estimated quote not long after. We eventually had a date fixed for two units to be installed. One required replacement of the previous old unit (included removal from property), and the second required a new hole to be drilled for installation. Matt and his team took roughly 3.5-4h. They were immaculate with their work! They left my place decently clean. I would have to say that this was the best customer service that I have had. Everything was discussed clearly, and my questions were addressed appropriately by Matt. I would highly recommended them if you are still considering! Thank you very much, Matt and your boys!

Matt did an excellent job installing our new Mitsubishi Electric heating and cooling system. He was professional, punctual, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The installation was completed to a high standard, and the work area was left clean and tidy. We're very happy with the result and appreciate the added peace of mind from the 5-year Mitsubishi Electric manufacturer warranty and 7-year Bellair workmanship warranty. Highly recommend Matt and the Bellair team.
